The recruitment riddle my wife once posed . . .
Or I should say one of her candidates was asked, and being the bozo couldn’t answer a simple ‘un like that, she posed it to me, and I answered it, and . . .
Ah, but wait a minute.
Let me back up.
I don’t know if I’ve mentioned it before, but my wife’s a recruitment agent. Both full time and part time, mostly part time now from what I gather, but I’m not really sure.
But I AM sure on the “what she does part”.
As opposed to what she says when people ask her “what I do”.
“I have no idea”, she says. “Honestly!”
And then the other day (to me). “I wonder how much you write about me!”
Well my dear, lovely, other half probably doesn’t know how much I write about her. Quite literally and not just here. On other sites as well, other businesses, and . . . ?
And she doesn’t know what I do either in that regard.
Sometimes, certain “Secrets” are best kept, even if they’re OPEN ONES!
Ok, salaciousness aside, whats up you ask.
Well, this.
“If an ant walks three miles up a wall (hypothetically) in one hour, and goes down two in another, then how long would it take to walk ten miles?”
(The question was posed in Hindi, of course, being the candidate was in India and being her language of choice is, well, Hindi, and being she thinks . . ah, but we’ll get there. Hehe).
And this was a while back, I think, but I still remember answering promptly.
And No, I’m not going to reveal the answer here, but apparently the candidate got this wrong.
And was dumped.
Funny thing, memories . . .
I once remember (when Imet my wife) her asking me to “be formal and act professional in a job interview”.
For reference, she called me out of the blue (I was at the job before THAT Job at the time! ?) and told me the following (when I told her I was NOT going to wear anything but jeans, and that was that”).
“Rahul, come on! How can you even say that! Do you realize what a huge company you’re going to walk into?”
(again, paraphrasing)
“Uh . . . “( I was about to tell her I could give a rats ass less, and the only reason I was talking to her about it was, well, HER but hey . . . )
“No ifs and buts!”
And that was that.
Of course, I didtn get the job.
And of course, it was a job where she just sent me without reading my CV at all.
When I quizzed her about it and the fact the job was as much a fit for me as supporting Joe Biden currently is (NOT!! Ugh!), of course, no answer.
Gotta love them recruiters, hehe. Most about as useful workwise as a screen door on a submarine, especially if they’re ESL recruiters, which thankfully my wife refuses to deal with, period (smart girl – I don’t blame her one damn bit either ?).
Anyway, just where was I and what was I gonna tell you.
That both this and what she (apparently, if I heard right) tells my “siesta loving” lovely daughter (who loves to sit over meals for hours forking at her food, much like they do in Spain for one – or did, pre China plague anyway) have a parallel to fitness.
“The brain sends a signal to the body in 20 minutes that it’s full, and if you don’t eat before that!”
She trailed off (again, if I’ve got this right).
Hey.
At least it’s better than what “Twinkle” Khanna married to the famous Indian actor Akshay Kumar told her kid apparently (who was the same).
“The butcher will cut your fingers off and fry them!”
Ugh. Now is that what you really want to tell a kid?
And no I ain’t lying either. Google, and you’ll see (and her husband’s response to it too, hehe, and can’t say I blame the dude!).
Anyway, point of this ramble?
Is to do things FAST my friend.
And do them the right way.
In terms of fitness, way too many people get on pushups, for instance.
They get good at ‘em.
Start cranking them out like there’s no tomorrow.
People comment.
With jealousy usually (well, jealousy and a mixture of “how dare he! I can’t!” – kinda like the CCP right about now . . . ).
And of course, the comments come in thick and fast.
“You’re skinny!”
“Pushups do nothing for overall strength” (usually from people who can’t do a single one in proper form, and I ain’t talking handstand pushup either!)
And pretty much soon, he decides to mix (back) in boobybuilding with GOOD stuff.
Two steps back my friend.
Don’t be one of those people. Get on the GRAVY train, and STAY on it!
And do things FAST.
100 pushups done RIGHt should take you NO LONGER than 12-13 minutes, preferably 9 my friend.
And you can see proof of this in the 250 pushup workout I take you through in the 0 Excuses Fitness videos. Hey, I even throw in bridging and handstands at the end of it for good measure, though the book doesn’t really cover the latter, and yet, total filming time as the lovely and redoubtable Miss Cindy would tell me, less than 25 minutes tops!
And that’s how it is with life too.
Keep moving ahead. No regrets.
Do the right thing.
If you screw up, so what. Who careS!
IT’s about the steps you take forward, not necessarily those you take backward.
Last, but not least, remember what I once wrote about, and what the great Vince Mc MacMahon had to say on this.
“sometimes, in order to take one step ahead, you gotta move THREE backwards”.
And that, my friend, is the final spanner and monkey wrench into all this. I’ll have more on that too soon!
Best,
Rahu lMookerjee
PS – Pushup Central is truly the very best in terms of conditioning there is, my friend. Pushups will WHIP them saggy butts into shape like there AIN’T no tomorrow! Get on the gravy train right NOW, right HERE! , BOYO! Hurry, my friend. Time waits for no-one, and it ain’t gonna wait for YOU EITHER. Invest NOW. And be prepared to be GOBSMACKED. IT really IS that damn good, the best (and your FAVORITE) course ever on the mighty and one and only PUSHUP, and I challenge you to find one better on pushups on it ANYWHERE on the Internet!
PS #2 – and I just remembered. ESL, and recruiters. I wrote a lovely story on that back in 2014 I believe, the protagonist being a certain Jessie, and a fat, unfit yours truly. What exactly was that about you ask? Wel l- stay tuned – will reveal all shortly!
Do fingertip pushups "hurt" the fingers?
Do y'all remember the tale of the Korean dude (I dont know if I said he was Korean or not) that back in the day my college buddy and me talked about?
I DID mention the time I was knocking out pushups, and my buddy showed up an hour or so early to drink, saw me working out - grinned - and then we got together at the original appointed time?
His look of approval said it ALL, hehe.
And I mentioned how he thought doing 50 pushups at one shot was great - but anyone that can do 50 pull-ups at one shot - now that - is - SUPER STUD!
He didnt use those terms, but he meant it, and he was right.
(And to all the idiots out there who claim it's just pushups, well, question for YOU.
How many can YOU do at one shot - even the simplest pushup?
How many pull-ups can YOU do? If at all?)
The answer to the above, my friend, will say it ALL.
But then we spoke about Korean dude, heavily into martial artists, and doing them on his fingertips - 50 at one go.
Now thats good going!
I can do 'em - that many, yes. Perhaps more.
And as the great Charles Mitchell once said, this course is great because it kicks BOOTY.
He hates workouts that dont challenge him.
And he's right to do so!
Too many of the books out there give you mamsy pamsy flimsy "this that"progressions, and cater to the whiners and moaners.
I dont.
I get straight to the REAL DEAL (which Charles said I was, and he's damn right).
But anyway, last I spoke to him, he was still working hard on some of the fingertip pushups in Pushup Central - variations you do NOT see in my other books (for a good reason) - and said they were "almost impossible to do".
He's right, hehe.
But anyway, cement ...
I've seen people do pushups on CEMENT Blocks.
I dont know if was the Spetsnaz I saw, or just fitness people in general, I can't recall.
But there it is, dude pounding out pushups - on fingertips - on cement blocks.
Let me tell you, that HURTS.
And will make a MAN - a REAL MAN out of you.
It's hard enough doing 'em on a paved cement floor, so for you guys - i'd advocate a carpet or perhaps mat, or grass (so long as it isn't WET - nasty injury waiting to happen!!)
There is a reason though that martial artists do these all the time.
two reasons.
One, well, see the "chair pushup" I mention in Pushup Central.
An oldie, but goldie.
Too easy?
DO it first - and then YAP, bro.
And second, because the fingertip pushup is one of the keys to super strength and a rock solid CRUSHING grip.
APE like grip.
I mention this as a secret in Gorilla Grip, and all the courses on pull-ups.
While yeah, pull-ups work the grip like there's no tomorrow, for the ultimate, you simply MUST mix them in with fingertip pushups!!
And as for the idiots that don't believe me?
Well, there was a lengthy blue flame review left ont he Amazon UK page for Gorilla Grip in 2017, and I've mentioned that enough times, but part of it I'll do so again here.
"I did pull-ups and chin-ups for years, but it did not give me a grip like steel and fingers like iron pliers".
RM - Don't know what style of pull-up or chin up this Bozo was doing. . .
"Something that particularly annoyed me was he (yours truly) seems to link his workout with the cachet of the Marines. He says his grip got better and stronger without doing a single pull-up for months but he doesn't mention what he did!"
RM - This idiot apparently never read the first (opening) part of the book where BOTH things are mentioned and explained.
"He mentions Bert Asserati and the one arm handstand, but there's no proof! Maybe it's only strong people - naturally strong people ..."
RM - Amazingly enough this nutjob never offered any proof for HIS assertion.
And I've gone in depth ENOUGH on this genetics and "naturally strong" crap.
No-one is naturally this or that, my friend.
Those of us that want it work for it - fight for it - and get it.
And have been doing so all our lives, some more so than others in all regards.
Enough with the idiot though ...
Last, but not least, done RIGHT - fingertip pushups won't hurt your fingers.
They'lld o the opposite.
Think building up your fingers to the point you can thrust them through BLOCKS of cements.
Think the MOTION with which these experts do it.
Think crushing cans of Coke with your bare (bear) hands - or like Dan Hodge did at 80 plus, crush APPLES!
THAT, my friend, is what fingertip pushups can and will do for you.
Move over bozos, I'd say to anyone that complains about 'em!
And thats it. Back soon!
Best,
Rahul Mookerjee
PS - Lots of you haven't gotten Pushup Central as yet - do so NOW. Truly a must have and masterpiece, along with Animal Kingdom Workouts!
PS #2 - The idiot also said this.
"The author has written a lot of other books, most even more expensive (remember, at the time, Gorilla Grip on Amazon was priced at a throwaway price ) making similar claims. I have a feeling he gives out minimum information for maximum gain".
Emphasis on the "expensive" part and what I said about "blue flame central".
And that, my friend says it all, hehe.
(Not to mention what this jackass says about minimum info. Clearly he hasn't DONE any of the workouts I've mentioned, more comprehensive than anything else out there in that regard).
But he, of course is nothing compared to the one and only Bozo Schofield, who reviews Animal Kingdom Workouts by saying "I have so much money to burn, so I keep coming back to Rahul's work!"
Sage, in terms of incompetence, and sheer "idiocy" (not to mention BROKE as a you know what) shining through. LOL.
Anyway, enough on the jackasses and moron-jobs. Back soon!
More on Pushup Central . . .
My almighty - not - computer crashed while typing out the last post, so lets see if we can do this again.
Message from the Spiritual that??
Anyway, when John Walker, a great customer from the UK once told me that getting Pushup Central would probably be worth his while if just for the amount of criticism the Bozos and morons gave it, he was right.
But I found it interesting.
Though YES, I had highly recommended the course to him (along with Jump Rope Mania!) - another course that doesn't get it's dues - I do that to everyone.
I hadn't really said a lot on Pushup Central specifically to him, not that I recall.
Vibes travel!
And these did.
But anyway, the pushup.
The almighty Pushup that the Bozos diss, and the morons that think adding "weight upon weight to the bench press and "add oil!!!"" is what it's about diss and say its too simple because they can't do it, the pushup that turned Bruce Lee, Mike Tyson, Herschel Walker, the Gama, and countless others not mentioned here and not necessarily in that order into BRUTISH freaks of nature NOT TO BE TRIFLED WITH ...
Mr Handstand Pushup and Pullup Champ Papa can do many exercises, and does.
The hill - - and pull-ups are and will always remain dear to my HEART! (Charles the "friend", if you're reading the HEART part - take NOTE!).
But pushups . . .
I dont know why, but when I came out with Pushup Central I KNEW it was going to be a hit, and sure enough, it was.
"My best course" ever was what I thought (which is what a lot of folks have said about Animal Kingdom Workouts).
Pushup Central and it's 55 ways to do pushups . . .
Animal Kingdom Workouts has 68.
13 being the difference.
Yes, I know what they say about 13 being unlucky, but it's about belief, and much like seeing a magpie does NOT bring bad luck - - ah, but I digress!
I LOVE pushups - always have!
Maybe my subconscious never forgot the training montages in Ghayal I wrote about - starring no less than Sunny "Pa Ji" Deol, the Lion of Punjab (one of 'em, at any rate!).
He of the "2.5 kg hand".
Maybe it's good thing my computer crashed the first time, because I forgot to mention the first time - Sunny was reputed to have done 500 pushups daily in his prime while eating "butter from his farmhouse".
Much like the Gama's numbers, I've no way of knowing if this is true or reliable, but I would not be surprised to know it is!
Yours truly did them too at a certain point, even when "fat".
And that training montage in the 1990's blockbuster Ghayal makes it all worth it, so worth it!
It's 2 minutes - but that 2 minutes was seared into my subconscious forever.
OUr initial memories do make us!
(those we focus upon).
Sunny was in prison. He chopped wood all day long as the music BEAT AND PULSATED!
Raw, primal ENERGY!
At night, the rest of the convicts slept.
He did pushups!
Then they show him eating by himself. Alone.
Then he's doing pull-ups in the rain!
Any of this strike BELLS with anyone that's purchased "16 Inspirational Fitness Recollections" - - - I BET!
Ghayal 2 was a disaster in my opinion, but the first was a classic, and Sunny was real in both, which I appreciate - much respect!
Not like certain other idiots in Bollywood who do "what the situation or politicans demand".
Sunny Deol and Sanjay Dutt (and a few others) were and will always be THEMSELVES and REAL, and thats what it's all about.
But anyway, Sunny doing pushups, chest to the floor on each rep!
I remember myself picturing MYSELF doing them - replacing Sunny with me (when I was real young).
And that visual probably led to my Taekwondo teacher, a man known for solid criticism WHEN WARRANTED - and equal praise WHEN WARRANTED always praising me for my pushups which I enjoyed doing - unlike the other kids - and unlike my stretching, which was atrocious (I still remember him ignoring my pain as another kid pried my legs wide open!) - pushups always came naturally to me.
Visualization, anyone?
Sounds, anyone?
But anyway, the Taekwondo instructor I had knew when to praise, and didnt just criticize, which is KEY.
Anyway, thats enough of an eulogy on the book, hehe.
If you're not convinced by now to GRAB it - NOW - you never will be!
BEst,
Rahul Mookerjee
PS - Remember to grab Jump Rope Mania too while you're at it!
350 and counting. . .
Man oh man, what a RUSH.
"When you're face to face with yourself in your cave - darkened room, no dumbphone, no computer,no friends, no NOTHING - then you find out what you're truly made of.
Just yourelf, and the floor - and wall, period".
- Rahul Mookerjee, Jan 4, 2022.
And perhaps David Goggins, Mr T, Iron Mike, Stallone, and a host of other achievers down the ages - Jeff Bezos always included!
Anyway, I thought I'd pause at 370. The orignal goal was 250, one name though kept popping up.
JOHN WALKER.
I'm doing this for him.
The body is capable of so much more than what you think it is consciously - we only operate at like 30-35% most of the time - less if you're the average excuse of a male (like Bozo Schofied).
John Walker understands this!
"IF you're like me, (if bolded for a reason, most aren't a real life hero like him!!) - when the mind will not allow the body to quit, period, no matter what".
A man who lives life in the flow, gut feeling, all that ...
If he were here, he'd be egging me on to do more, I'm sure!
Mark Taylor, the great Aussie captain of yore, old school Aussie - give RESPECT, get it back in spades - REAL MAN!!! during his famous innings in Pakistan when he once surpassed Sir Don Bradman, was about to in fact - and stopped.
He respected the Don too much!
Hats off, Mark!
Matty Hayden "Big Matt the Bat" went on to surpass the record. But I'll always hold taylors innings in higher esteem, done away from home, against a far stronger bowling attack (none of this takes away from Big Matt the Bat though who punished India in it's own backyard in 2001, in the dustbowls, the TOUGHEST environment ever!!) ...
I stopped at 350, I was planning on doing so at 370, since it was at the age of 37 0 Excuses Fitness was created, I got into the best shape of life around 36.
But 35 was when I receieved my "second chance" at life - something I have not written about a lot, but will in upcoming emails etc, and in the book I might still put out "120 - 60 kgs - CONCEIVE - BELIEVE!- ACHIEVE!".
Whew.
John Walker keeps poppng up - kept popping up in mind when I Was doing them pushups.
I'm off for more soon.
"When you're in that dark room, face to face with yourself is what you find out what you're really MADE OF".
ARE you a real man?
Only you know the answer, friend.
Lets do it for John, all of us, who at the age of 64 is an inspiration to men years younger!
Best,
Rahul Mookerjee
P.S - Edit, half an hour later ...
I'm done with 410!
41 years of age, so I had to do it!
And, this wouldn't be complete without mentioning my little girl, always there for me consciously and subconsciously, ever since the little bundle of joy was born, I still remember the tiny little bundle wriggling about in my arms, to me, that is what she will always be i.e. Daddy's little girl.
Much like John Walker, always there for me ...
Anyway.
Didnt hit the 500 ... as yet.
Maybe another time!
Or, maybe I'll crack off 90 more soon, hehe.
Pushups, that GREAT equalizer - amongst MEN (real men).
If you're a real man, my friend, you do pushups.
Its that simple.
You could do them in reps, you could bang out a 100 in one set (those that can), you could do them in sets of 20 or what not - - but ...whatever it is, you do 'em, and you do them DAILY without fail.
This last bit is important.
Way too many people have one good workout, maybe two or three, then "let it go".
Wrong, big mistake - huge mistake!
If you don't do it, you LOSE it!
Anyway, the great equalizer eh.
Bodyweight exercise itself is one of them - along with the (admittedly annoying as heck) "English Wne and Beer Shops" in India, back where you're still treated as a prisoner wanting grog as opposed to a paying customer.
Money first, usually shoved through iron bars, before they literally (sometimes) throw the grog back at you.
India is a great equalizer in many regards that way...
It don't matter if you're driving a Porsche there, you still gotta maneouver that damn SUV between cows, vegetable sellers, dogs, tots, all and sundry on the roads, if you're walking, you gotta look everywhere for dog poop no matter what ...
It don't matter how high and mighty you are, once you step out, or into the liqor store - you're fair game. Not that I like that, of course, these things should have been gone from India years ago, but apparently those there don't want them to go?
"As we think, so we are" ...
But anyway, bodyweight exercise is a massive and great equalizer too.
And none more so than pushups.
When you step out in that exercise yard, when you're loosening up, when you're OPENING them shoulders, swinging them arms, everything else STOPS mattering, or should.
CAN YOU DO IT?
Or can you not.
It's that simple, BRO.
DO you got the LOOK in the eye, or not?
Its that simple...
And pushups my friend are numero uno on the great equalizer list. I'd say pull-ups, but so few people can do 'em, if at all properly.
Let me tell you one thing, even those of you that are just interested in looks and abs etc, YOU guys would be well served by getting the book on pushups and then doing pushups, EVERYDAY without fail - because if there is one exercise that really brings the abs out, it's PUSHUPS.
Sure, bridging, pull-ups, hill sprints, all do it, but nothing quite taxes them "deep burn" as pushups do.
John Walker was right when he posted his (by now) world famous review on Pushup Central.
BRUTALLY EFFECTIVE!
The Bodyweight Guru has done it again, 55 ways to bring on the pain, a magnum opus on how to really use what is possibly the world's oldest and "most diverse" exercise.
If you're like me, you live for that pain, the feeling of your muscles as they stretch and contract and how your body screams at you to stop but your mind will not allow you to quit, you have that target in your mind and you cannot stop until you hit that target, yes my friends this is training "brutally effective" training.
Buy this book and take up the challenge of Push Up Central.
The Bodyweight Guru is waiting for you, let him show you how with this (innocently sounding) book you can become more than you could ever have imagined, this is hard training at it's absolute best.
Now a word about the previous review, Glyn Scofield is a total moron and his reviews suck almost as much as he does, Glyn, if by chance you ever read this, do yourself a favour and just stop, nobody cares what you think.
Now, let's dissect this a bit more than I already have - in a few words.
See the bolded parts.
You can become MORE than you ever imagined.
YES.
If you have the discipline to knock off 100 good pushups daily, in one workout preferably, or more throughout the day, then you have the discipline and gumption to get to the magic 500.
More on that HERE.
And here.
And you'll build mental strength and fortitude in spades, which will allow you to work towards, and achieve any goal you set for yourself in life.
More on the BURN in his comment.
YES.
Pushups are the only exercise that by virtue of their form and the floor work, make your muscles SCREAM AND BURN - and therefore grow strong, animal like strong.
There is a reason boxers and wrestlers everywhere have PUSHUPS as their mainstay exercise, period.
And, abs ... there is NO workout that works the abs better than a medly of pushups. Trust me on this one, even if you're already a super stud with 12 packs, you'll need to do pushups. Simple as that.
Not to mention all the deep breathing pushups involved. Pull-ups in high reps do too, of course, but not like pushups, not even close, because of the chest work and the heart being so close to the muscles worked, something you cannot get from any other exercise.
The great equalizer.
"How many pushups can YOU DO?"
While looking the other person in the EYE. Chin up, SHOULDERS BACK, my brother!
"nuff said on that one, eh.
Can you get down on the floor and pump 'em out - DO you got it?
It's that simple, friend.
On a parting note, nigh none of this is to say you should not do other exercises.
Of course you should.
It works best that way.
But I will say this, amigo, that if there is one exercise you had to pick, could only do ONE your whole life, it would be pushups, its as simple as that.
Back soon .... and if you haven't already - pick up Pushup Central NOW - the ONE book on pushups that will truly change your life in ways hitherto UNIMAGINABLE - forever.
Go NOW.
Best,
Rahul Mookerjee
P.S. - For another course that will truly build - and give you the LOOK in the EYE, and the VIBE - Battletank Shoulders!
https://0excusesfitness.com/battletank-shoulders.
And, of course, remember the video on dealing with trolls. Hehe.
Things are always better . . . after a workout!
. . . or after writing to you guys, hehe.
Those that aren’t snowflakes that is. Hehe again, or maybe those that ARE as well!
(w.r.t the snowflake thing, a bunch got ticked off at my last extra long email and are STILL getting ticked off at a) the content and b) the length of the email).
How dare I, hehe.
Anyway, I’ve done up a post about that this morning, and was going to send it to you NOW.
But . . . now is not the time.
Now is to tell you this (because YOU TOO might be going through it in many ways) is that today was a hellatious day in all regards.
What do I mean?
Well, I got through a hellatious and wonderful workout for one. That’s the good news!
And the bad? Or rather irritating, or annoying?
Tried making a few payments to my hosting providers (both of them) and they BOTH failed.
It didn’t work initially at all. Apparently some issue with Paypal. Tried with card again, no dice.
And when it finally did go through, the money got debited from my bank account but never reached the host.
Sweeeeeeeetttt . . .
This has happened to me with the bank I am using right now in the past.
And while you’d think it’s an instant re-credit back to the account, that’s not what happens in most cases.
I once withdrew a not insignificant sum from the ATM once (in local currency) - - the equivalent of USD 100 or so, and the ATM never spat out the money.
Went to the bank, and they said I’d have to go to my bank.
Went to mine and they said they’d raise the issue with the other bank.
The year was 2018. Sound familiar my friend? Hehe .
And the money was NEVER refunded after that.
I once had an issue while recharging my phone online, and the money disappeared from the account, and showed up three weeks later.
Pithy amount, of course.
About double of that disappeared today in terms of the hosting . . . And when or if it’ll show up is anyone’s guess.
Chalk it down to the game huh.
And on the home front, it’s the same as usual. Headed perilously close to where things were in 2018, or worse . . .
. . . and of course, the pictures weren’t retaken. Hehe.
GREAT news?
Is that I edited, and all is well on that front. Now it’s a matter of finishing up and getting it done, but I just had to “vent” to an extent first.
Being I’ve done that, WHY am I doing it?
Well, simple.
There are NO dearer friends or family I have than my list.
You guys listen to me chat. You guys listen to me talk. You guys are THERE for FITNESS and myself every step of the way.
You guys support me. YOU guys make it worth while!
And so, it’s only natural that whatever happens in my life gets communicated to you first.
Not to take that to extreme and giddy limits, but you get my point!
And also, to tell you that . . . things are always better in a certain way after a workout.
After the hours of annoyance today, and likely more to come later on, I’m feeling somewhat calm. Somewhat relaxed . ..
And the best damn workout I had, in RECORD time contributed to that!
And it was straight out of 0 Excuses Fitness, my friend.
Trust me, these ARE the workouts that make you feel on top of the world. If you do ‘em right!
And I sure do.
And so can you, my friend.
Go right HERE to grab the program.
OK, enough of my ramble. Back to my animal kingdom workout books!
Best,
Rahul Mookerjee
P.S. – Remember this my friend. Could always be worse. My buddy Vincent is in a place he shouldn’t be for doing the RIGHT thing. In the wrong place, for doing the right thing, and I understand how it feels. Oh yes, I do. All I can say is . . . the darkest hour is always before the dawn my brother.
Or, the following quote from Napoelon Hill.
Every adversity, every misfortune, carries with it the seed of an equivalent, if not greater BENEFIT.
And so it goes!
What I learned (and the workout I got) from fixing the WATER machine this afternoon ...
It's funny, my dear reader, but tru.
Yours truly is NOT a "technically" inclined person in that he dos NOT like to "take things apart and fix them".
If theres something to do around the house?
Well, yours truly is probably NOT the guy you call, hehe.
And it's funny despite my outward alpha male "macho" appearance. I didnt know how to change the air con filtere on an A/C split until Marc the African Silverbak Gorilla told me.
He didnt know either.
Despite the brawn.
And this isn't about attraction, or like minds attracting, but rather the Chinese dude who showed us just how EASY it was when he did it (on a paid basis of course, hehe).
Much like opening a lock is if you know how. Again, CHina's taught me a lot in that regard!
Forking out a 100 or so kuai for something youc an do with ... ah, but this isn't about locks, locksmiths, and yours truly forgetting keys when in a rush for workouts (I rarely do it, but it's happened on occasion!).
But anyway ...
It's a lot easier to do all this in China than India.
India, for whatever reason is different in that the craftmanship for just about anything is shoddier.
Nothing is standard. Nuts and bolts don't fit where they should. Parts are "just that much different". And so forth.
China, not so.
Despite China's many faults, MOST factories and us foregin devils doing QC there ensure that parts are, for the most part, of uniform standard and quality in just about anything made there these days with a few exceptoins, but just a few.
Yours trulu even took apart a giant HEATER of all things there, wires and everything, and re-wired it all back together with the help of a video - in Chinese!
HEy I can learn if taught WELL.
But in India?
I doubt I'd be able to even put the damn thing back together, hehe.
Anyway, yours truly has never been technically inclined in that regard.
Curiously enough I'm the guy they call when computers need fixing or taking apart ...
But the "man things around the house"?
For some reason, changing car tyres, or being taught how to do so, or being taught how to BOX and FIGHT ... all those little "guy things" that Dad's often pass on to their kids was never ever there for me.
Perhaps it's the Nazi feminist household in which I grew up.
But I wasn't interested in it either.
But then again, kids are only interested once you TELL 'em.
I teach my little GIRL to box (the best I can, hehe) - and to exercise RIGHT (which I CAN do - very well!).
It's never about gender my friend (curiously enough yours truly was told to take "manly subjects" in schoool when he was more interested in arts and HISTORY rather than boring ass Sciences).
And curiously enough most of my customers are of the same bent of mind, upbringing etc.
Not so much "friends" of whom I have precious few, and PREFER it that way.
Quality, not quantity.
And where am I going with all this, you might ask?
The workout I got.
More to the point, the THUMB workout. Same thumb that popped in and out while doing handstands "Rocky style" is now back at full bore despite me getting NO treatment for it, bearing the pain, and the only thing I Did for it was grip an ice cold Corona tightly the night of the (VERY AND MOST painful I've ever had) injury.
Today, that thumb is rockin and back stronger than ever
Fingertip pushups, my friend, before you ask are the secret.
And despite the MARK on my right thumb from openkng that damn water filter or what not this afternoon, I did it.
Don't know so much about the tech side of it, but the "opening and closing"?
I did it. (no, Bozo Glyn, if you're reading this I ain't referring to the legs you never opened and the asses you always dove headfirst, not the small one either ... ah, but I will stop. LOL).
Fingertip pushups are a secret old timers and wrestlers used to build that CORSUCATING grip strength and are often ignored in favor of fancy grippers and sucgh.
Weight shyt, and what not.
Big mistake my friend.
These will giv eyou the strongest fingers ever, and a grip of STEEL.
Learn how to do 'em right HERE!
Best,
Rahul Mookerjee
PS - And remember, along with pull-ups? You'll literally have a grip of steel x 1000. In fact, I believe I gave away one of my TOP grip secrets by saying that, but so be it!
PS #2 - Bozo Schofield sent me a rant saying "Rahul Tyson" when I posted the sales page. Maybe I'll go MANO-A-0MANO with him on that one. Then again, nah. I fight MEN...LOL. Not pansies and girly men. 'nuff said.
(and men that wouldn't last a DAY in the slammer, hence the Bozo on the lam from cops. Long story!)
Fingertip pushups and pull-ups
So I got through a workout today. An old style workout. A fantastic one!
And why do I say this i.e what makes it different?
Well . . .
. . . because it’s a workout from BACK in the day.
From BACK when I wrote all those books on pull-ups, and when it was my primary means of exercise (the pull-up, that is).
And it fits in nicely with what I said in the last email as well, or at least the ending. If you missed it, go on ahead and check out the blog!
And the workout was . . . pushups, and pull-ups.
More specifically, fingertip pushups and pull-ups, and while the REASON for my doing the workout today (this particular one) was not necessarily to go down memory lane, ended up that way, and that’s what ended up happening.
But, the REAL reason behind the workout was something else, which I will talk about in the next email.
For now, bear in mind that that is how life is when you live in the flow, and so are workouts.
(Comes with caveats, of course. I’m currently nursing a split callus big time – something that has resisted TWO band-aids thus far . . . and looks ready to resist far more. Good news is the scab is already forming, and better news is, again, the MEMORIES it brought back).
I’ve often shown up back home with bleeding palms and BURNING skin (from rubbing a split callus on thick bars for tons of pull-ups).
And I’ve felt GREAT afterwards. And the callus usually heals within a couple of days, and the skin toughens, and . . . bingo. Problem solved. I’ve never been one to let “little things like that” bother me.
But you don’t have to go through that if you don’t want to, and that ain’t why I’m telling you this.
It’s because of two reasons.
One, this workout was done OPPOSITE of the manner in which I normally do my workout. See the next email for more on this, and this was actually the reason I did it in the manner I did.
And two . . .
If there EVER was a better grip workout combo than with the above two exercises (and if you add in hanging leg raises, it amps the effect) I am yet to see it.
The two books on pull-ups, and the THREE Books on grip have MORE than plenty in terms of this, of course.
But the fact is (oh, and add in monkey bars as well) that there are FEW, if any tips I can give you at getting better at and increasing pull-ups than doing and getting very good indeed at fingertip pushups.
My workout today was 50 pull-ups and a 100 fingertip pushups.
Blazing!
And not all at one go. 5 sets of 10 pull-ups, and 5 sets of the pushups.
Maybe I’ll switch the numbers around in the next workout to make it fun!
But for now, I’m toasted. So is my grip.
And so it’s adios for now, with one of the most powerful workout related tips I could ever, ever give you!
Best,
Rahul Mookerjee
P.S. – These two exercises form the BACKBONE of many of the routines in the ADVANCED courses on pull-ups and building them “battletank shoulders”. Get on BOTH these courses now, my friend.
